Crochet Cuddles

After years and years of trying to have people teach me how to crochet I finally found a book that explained it all and I was hooked. I love it. There are so many cute things to create. My favourite is amigurumi. So my theme for today is a showcase of all the cute little patterns I have come across. And best of all they are all free. Enjoy!!

A Wonderful Idea for Teachers and Daycare Providers

As the school year draws to a close what a wonderful idea for a gift for Teachers and Daycare Providers. Easy on the wallet but full of heart.

Welcome

Thank you for stopping and taking the time to read this. It has been a long time coming and I finally put aside some time to make this happen.
This is my first attempt at blogging so all your feedback is welcome.
It's tough to decide where to begin... But I figure you might as well get to know the person behind the screen.
I am a working mom. Each day when I drop my little booger off at daycare I wish that I could be the one spending the day with him instead. It's tough. But I do enjoy my time away too. He is in a great place and loves his little friends. My heart soared last week when he was saying good-bye and gave everyone little munchkin a hug. It was a tough decision to go back...but mortgage payments and groceries are quite important to our survival.
I really fell into the craft world at a young age but went full boar when I discovered Etsy. This was like heaven. What a great place to showcase all my crafty goods. Since its inception I have opened and closed a few shops. My problem was always trying to build a brand and sticking with it. I just love trying new things so my poor shop could never keep up. But I'm happy now with my shop and it's non-commited for a single product type which allows me the creative freedom to keep changing things up. The hardest part about this whole process is finding the time...
A typical day for me begins by hitting the snooze button at least three times before finally dragging myself out of bed. I get up, let the dog out, feed the dog, make breakfast and lunches. Go upstairs get myself ready, then wake up Nathan to get him ready for daycare. This part is so hard. He always looks so cute all snuggled in his bed and I just want to crawl in bed with him, but...I wake hime up, get him dressed and out the door we go. My husband has already left for the day by now so it's just me to get the house ready in the morning.
I drop Nate off at daycare, feel some guilt as I say good-bye, then off I go for the morning commute to work. I arrive only a few minutes late and start my day by checking my latest work emails. Then a quick production meeting to shape the day and off I go. Work is over-whelmingly busy. I enjoy it but by the end of the day I am tired. I chug some water and off I go to pick Nate up. I sit in traffic willing it to go faster than 15km/hour. I arrive at daycare with the sound of kids playing and it makes me happy knowing that Nathan is having fun. It takes me awhile to actually want to go home but eventually I get him strapped in for the ride home. We have fun chatting with each other the whole way home. His hilarious baby babble is just so cute. We get home and are greeted by Lance our Jack Russel, wired from being being inside all day we let him out to enjoy the backyard. Mike my husband is soon to follow. We enjoy a family dinner. This was our promise to each other, no tv and no phones at the dinner table. Dinner was family time. We recap our days and share stories. Nate chimes in with his stories too.
I've been training so run 5K so after supper we wash up and off I go with Lance to burn off some energy. It gives Mike and Nathan some father-son time which is really important for them too. Soon enough it's Nate's bedtime and we tuck our stalling munchkin in. He does his best by giving us hugs and kisses and reading stories to stay up as late as he can. Finally we close the door and enjoy 1 1/2 hours of quiet time before bed.
Mike and I will watch a movie, or listen to tunes and just relax. It's nice...for about 20 minutes. Then I get antsy and need to craft something. It's like a drug. LOL so I get some crocheting and do that while cuddling with Mike. Bedtime rolls around and the next day we do it all over again. Ahhhhhh the life of a crafty working mom.
